A runway, your way.
Choose the surface, paint the piano keys, set displaced thresholds, and add blast pads. Even the aiming points have options.

Every runway. Every turn. Every light.
Bring the airport in your head to life with AeroCAD.

THE TOOLKIT
A runway is just the beginning. Build the connections, paint the markings, and give every arrival a proper welcome.
Choose the surface, paint the piano keys, set displaced thresholds, and add blast pads. Even the aiming points have options.
Draw straight routes or smooth curves. Snap to runway edges and watch a yellow lead-in meet the centreline.
Explore 10 approach-light presets, PAPI and REIL. Tune the spacing, brightness and strobes independently at each runway end.
Terminals, hangars, towers, windsocks, helipads and parking stands. Place, rotate and resize the pieces of your airport.
Work in real-world coordinates, measure distances and bearings, and zoom from the entire airfield down to its details.
Save your airport locally as an AeroCAD project. Export a crisp PNG in day or night view to show what you’re building.
YOUR FIRST FLIGHT PLAN
A sample airport is ready when you open the app. Explore it, or start with a blank canvas and make something entirely yours.
Draw your runway, connect the taxiways, and sketch an apron. Get the big picture down first.
Select anything to find its properties. Fine-tune the markings, set the lights, and place your buildings.
Keep your project for the next session. Export a PNG when it’s time to give everyone a first look.
BEFORE YOU TAXI OUT
AeroCAD is a Windows desktop app. Install the app to create and save your own airports.
A 64-bit Windows PC. Windows 11 is recommended; the installer also permits Windows 10 22H2. The .NET runtime is included, so you don’t need Visual Studio or a separate .NET download.
You choose the location when you save a .aerocad project. Your files stay on your computer. Use Ctrl + S regularly—this Alpha uses manual saving.
This is AeroCAD’s first public release. You can design runways, taxiways, aprons and lighting layouts, but features and file formats may change. Some property edits aren’t covered by undo yet. Keep a copy of projects you want to preserve.
AeroCAD is a project by Arteries, built around the fun of designing airports and getting the little details right.
